How do I book?

Start on the page for the Luxury Black Hills Retreat or the Luxury Golf Course Retreat, choose your dates and pay securely online. For both homes together, send a Book Both quote request.

When do I pay?

Half is due when you book, and your card is charged automatically for the balance on its due date.

What's in the price?

Your quote shows the nightly rate, the cleaning fee, any pet fee, and South Dakota sales and tourism taxes before you pay. There's no booking-site service fee when you book here.

Are longer stays discounted?

Yes. Weekly and monthly stays are discounted automatically, and the discount shows on your quote.

Is there a minimum stay?

Two nights most of the year, three over the July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas to New Year's holidays, and five during Sturgis Rally week.

Do I sign a rental agreement?

Yes, a short agreement you sign online after booking. Check-in details go out once it's signed and your payments are current.

What's the cancellation policy?

How do I cancel?

Email vacationbouldercanyon@gmail.com. A cancellation takes effect the day we receive it.

What counts as Rally week?

Any stay that includes a night during the official Sturgis Motorcycle Rally dates, August 6–15 in 2027.

What if weather or travel plans get in the way?

There are no refunds for early departure, weather, road conditions or other events outside our control, so we recommend travel insurance. If we ever have to cancel because a home can't be used, you get a full refund of everything you paid.

How does the security deposit work?

A refundable hold of $750 is placed on your card before arrival, or $1,500 for Rally week and Book Both stays. It's a hold, not a charge. After checkout we inspect the home, and if nothing is damaged or missing and no extra cleaning is needed, the hold is released within 7 days. Your bank may take a few more business days to show it.

What if something breaks?

Let us know right away so we can fix it during your stay. Damage, missing items or extra cleaning are taken from the hold, and you get an itemized list.

What are the times?

Check-in is 3:00 PM and checkout is 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late checkout is $50 when the cleaning schedule allows; ask ahead and we'll confirm.

How do we get in?

Self check-in with a keypad on the garage door. Your personal code, the address and directions arrive two days before your stay.

What do we do at checkout?

• Load the dirty dishes into the dishwasher and start it
• Take the trash out to the bins
• Leave the beds as they are
• Close the hot tub cover, lock every door and close the garage doors
• Send a quick message when you've left so the cleaners can start

Can we get a cleaning partway through?

Yes, a mid-stay cleaning is $250. Ask ahead and we'll schedule it.

How many people can stay?

Up to 14 overnight in each home, everyone in a real bed: four king suites plus a bunk room with two queen and two full bunks. Book both homes for up to 28.

Can friends visit during the day?

Yes, up to 6 daytime visitors beyond your overnight guests. Visitors leave by 10 PM.

What are the house rules?

• No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, including the garage
• No parties or events, including weddings and commercial photo or video shoots
• Quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 AM, for the neighbors and the golfers
• The person booking must be 21 or older and stay at the home

Are pets welcome?

Yes. The $75 pet fee per stay covers up to two pets, and each additional pet is $75 more. There's no size limit. Please list every pet on your reservation and pick up after them; extra pet hair, scattered food or messes inside mean extra cleaning charges.

Where do we park?

In the driveway, in the garage, or on Stagecoach Trail east of Apple Springs Boulevard. Please never park on Apple Springs Boulevard.

Will our bikes and trailers fit?

Each home's large garage holds motorcycles, side-by-sides and large vehicles. During the Rally, trailers park in the driveway.

What's different about Rally week?

The 2027 Rally runs August 6–15. Stays arriving August 6–14 have a 5-night minimum, the balance is due 90 days before arrival, and the deposit hold is $1,500.

What is Stay & Play?

Stays booked on this site for two nights or more from April through October include four 18-hole rounds with carts at Boulder Canyon Golf Club for each home you book. It isn't included with Rally week stays or with bookings made on Airbnb or Vrbo. Free rounds are for use during your stay and have no cash value.

How do we use the rounds?

Book a tee time with the Boulder Canyon pro shop at 605-347-5108 or online through the club's website, then give your name at the pro shop when you check in. You'll be on the list, carts included. Extra rounds can be booked with the club.

Can we walk on the course?

Yes, you're welcome to walk on the course and use golf carts. The homes sit right on Hole 11, so keep an eye out for golfers and the occasional stray ball.

Which home has what?

Both have a covered hot tub, a sauna, a fire pit, foosball, outdoor TVs, a large garage with an extra fridge/freezer, and two washers and two dryers. The pool table, cold plunge and home theater are at the Luxury Black Hills Retreat. Shuffleboard, the deck fire table and the electric fireplace are at the Luxury Golf Course Retreat.

What's supplied?

Linens and bedding, towels, shampoo and soap, toilet paper and paper towels, detergent pods, and a Keurig with coffee, tea and cocoa. Neither home has a crib or high chair.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes. Each home has its own network, and the details come with your check-in instructions.

Anything to know about the hot tub and fire pit?

The hot tub is on and ready when you arrive; please close the cover after use, supervise children and keep glass away from it. Fire pit fuel is provided. Never leave the fire unattended, and no fireworks on the property.

Can we fish the lake?

Yes, fishing is allowed.

Where are the homes?

Side by side on Stagecoach Trail beside Hole 11 of Boulder Canyon Golf Club, about 5 miles from Sturgis and 7 from Deadwood on Highway 14A. The exact address and directions come with your check-in details.

Where should we shop and eat?

Lynn's Dakotamart in Sturgis is the easiest place to stock up on your way in. For dinner, try the Canyon Grille at the clubhouse or Loud American in Sturgis, and Legends Steakhouse (reservations suggested), Oggie's or Jacobs Brewhouse & Grocer in Deadwood.

Where's the nearest hospital?

The nearest hospital and urgent care are in Sturgis. For any emergency, call 911 first.
